Cardinal Newman #ClayChrushers had a great weekend at the SCTP Skeet State Championship in in Edgefield. We had eight shooters qualify, Alex Kopec, Shawn Farrell, Will Marsden, John Nates, Landon Turner, Nick Kopec, Reese Harris and Travi Chen.

At the end of the day Alex Kopec with a score of 94 won (in a shoot-off)the Skeet State Championship in Varsity/JV division giving him his second individual Championship and placing him in a very nice position to win the overall championship in May.

First year shooters Nick Kopec & Travi Chen had huge days as well. Nick grabbed 3rd place in the Intermediate Entry Level with a very nice score of 82 and Travi Chen took 5th place with a 79.

Shawn Farrell scored a top 15 finish with a very nice 84 with John Nates and Landon Turner both shooting 82s.

As a team we finished in 6th place Out of 17 teams that had qualifying shooters.

We will be back in action again this weekend in the SCYSF State Championship at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays in Richburg, SC.
