The Cardinal Newman Senior Athletes of the Year Awards are decided by a ballot of the entire coaching staff of Cardinal Newman School. These awards represent the male and female senior athletes – that best exemplify through their work ethics, their attitudes, their love of their sports, and their leadership, what coaches would like all athletes to strive for. In order to be eligible for this award the male and female athlete must have lettered in at least one sport for their senior year.
Women:
Jasmine Hogan- Jasmine has lettered in Softball, Basketball, Tennis and Volleyball. She has been a part of 5 state championship teams and will be continuing her academic and athletic career playing softball at South Carolina State University.
Men:
Josh Beadle and Shanye Monsanto
Josh Beadle- Josh has lettered in Basketball where he has been a part of 2 state championship teams and will be furthering his academic and athletic career playing basketball at Clemson University.
Shayne Monsanto- Shanye has lettered in Football, Basketball and Track and Field where he has been a part of 2 state championship teams and will further his academic and athletic career playing football at North Greenville University.
Scholar Athletes of the Year:
The Cardinal Newman Scholar-Athlete Award will be given each year to the highest-ranking (GPA) senior female athlete and male athlete who have earned at least 4 letters across 2 sports and who has maintained exemplary discipline records. In order to be eligible for this award the male and female athlete must have lettered in at least one sport for their senior year.
Women:
Emily Berg- Emily in addition to her excellence in the classroom has lettered in Cross Country, Bowling and Soccer being named team captain of the Cross Country and Soccer Teams.. She will be attending Furman University in the Fall and plans on majoring in Chemistry.
Men:
Andrew Abramson- Andrew in addition to his excellence in the classroom has lettered in Football and Tennis where he was named a captain on both of those teams. He will be attending Duke University in the Fall and plans on majoring in Economics.
Women of Will (WOW) BSN Sports and Under Armour Graduation Award
